Focus on our Hens
The main goal of this family-owned and operated ranch is to make sure that the health and welfare of the chicken is being maintained at above- standard conditions. We received the high honor of being the first egg ranch in California to be Certified Humane Farm Animal Care. We will continue to strive for egg-cellence as we face changes in the industry against the other chicken farmers in California and the United States all together.
Our hen houses are equipped with advanced automated systems that are programmed to bring food and water directly to the hens, collect eggs for processing and packaging, and carry the chicken manure away to the compost facility. Glaum Egg Ranch takes great pride in our organic standing with the USDA National Organic Program. This qualification ensures that we raise our birds and process our eggs with the utmost quality and care for the environment.
Non-GMO Organic feed
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are prohibited in organic farming. Due to their strong tolerance of pesticides, GMOs have normalized farming with toxic chemicals, which have been shown to end up in our food. You will always find only organic ingredients in our hens’ diets.
100% Solar Powered Farm
We are committed to sustainable farming and decreasing our carbon footprint. In doing so, we are excited to announce that we have installed solar panels on our farm. By using solar energy, we are doing our part as farmers to have a positive effect on our environment. Solar power is a clean, renewable, and reliable form of energy. We can run our entire farming operations with the stored energy that the sun makes available to us every day. These mindful practices ensure our future children and generations have a healthy planet to live on.
Care for Employees
One of the pillars of Glaum Egg Ranch is our commitment to all our employees. We take great pride in caring for the wellbeing of our employees and their families, offering year-round jobs, health benefits, housing, and a safe workplace. We are thankful to have employees that have dedicated themselves to our family for decades. Adrian (left) works in the egg processing room and has been with our family for 23 years. Our sweet Connie works in our barn store, selling fresh eggs every day. She has been with our family for 25 years. Make sure you say “hi” to Connie next time you come get your eggs! Francisco (right) is our egg delivery driver. You can catch Francisco driving all over Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties, making deliveries with a big smile on his face! He is a wonderful employee that has worked with our family for 17 years. We wouldn’t be the company we are today without these employees. But they are more than employees; they are a part of our family.
